Primary Duties

  • Complete weekly timecard data entry that encompasses collecting, inputting, and reconciling data.
  • Assist processing weekly payroll for 260 employees with payroll changes and garnishments.
  • Help to maintain vacation and sick accruals.
  • Assist with setting up new hires and processing employee terminations.
  • Assist employees with providing wage statements, copies of W-2, and payroll forms as needed.
  • Complete verifications of employment.
  • Assist with making deposits for employment taxes and processing journal entries on a weekly basis.
  • Provide a high level of customer service inside and outside the company.
  • Interpret and apply accounting policies, rules, and regulations to all work to ensure compliance with applicable standards.
  • Assist with miscellaneous accounting and administrative projects.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be able to pass a drug test and background check
  • 2-3 years of experience with full-cycle in-house payroll
  • Strong attention to detail, time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle high volume of work with accuracy and timeliness
  • Take initiative to solve problems and have a professional approach
  • Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to identify, analyze and resolve complex issues
  • Capable of working independently, multi-tasking and prioritizing to accomplish goals and meet deadlines
  • Must be able to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with construction accounting or similar job costing, pay applications, compliance, prevailing wage and certified payroll
  • Payroll certification and/or higher education is a plus
