POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:

The incumbent assumes responsibility for the expansion of software application use that provides customers building system optimization through data-driven analytics. S/he assumes a lead role in formulating strategies to increase the use of building analytics in the Company’s offerings to building owners, and assists other branches in applying strategies to improve local market share.

KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborates to create a product vision that connects to the broader service/ODS and portfolio strategy. 
  • Delivers on key operational growth objectives, including revenue, profit, and return on investment. 
  • Researches, strategically plans, and implements related marketing activities.
  • Manages all aspects from concept to design, including testing, forecasting, cost, development, programming, promotion, and support. 
  • Translates customer and business needs into the software process by gathering, writing, managing, and explaining feature requirements for the development and use of software.
  • Contributes to the culture and delivery of building analytics offerings by driving development sprints, creating user stories, refining backlog, and defining releases. 
  • Assumes full responsibility for the transparent delivery and success of defined products.
  • Translates customer and business needs into solution roadmaps and development backlog.
  • Defines and leads the execution of product visions within the context of building optimization solutions for energy conservation, comfort, and reliability.
  • Works closely with the branch service/ODS and controls teams to address prioritization needs, and provides real time feedback, and answers critical questions on an ongoing basis.
  • Provides updates, information, demos of product features, and progress against timelines to stakeholders, including business leadership and external partners.
  • Represents the needs of end customers, controls, and service business activities. 
  • Captures user and business needs in the form of user stories, functionality expectations, performance requirements, test plans, acceptance criteria, and system interactions.
  • Collaborates with peers across the Company to drive the evolution of best practices, and ensure that both near and long-term strategies are fully informed and developed.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • This position operates primarily in a professional office environment, and routinely utilizes standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets, and printers.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • In performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to talk, hear, perform repetitive motion, and possess an appropriate degree of both visual acuity and manual dexterity. 
  • This is considered a sedentary position, which means possible exertion up to ten (10) pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

TRAVEL:

  • This position may require up to 50% travel. 
  • The Company’s Work from Home (WFH) Policy is applicable to this position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a product owner/manager or similar controls/analytics role.
  • Demonstrated success working with teams to plan, develop, refine, and launch software products.
  • Ability to research and explore product/feature opportunities and user experience improvement.
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) skills, analytical ability, and attention to detail.
  • Capacity to quickly adapt to change and successfully navigate ambiguous problem spaces.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in a building industry focus area (i.e., HVAC, building automation, energy management, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Skyspark Analytics or similar offerings.
  • Experience with Tridium Niagara and Web Supervisor.
  • Credentials in energy management, energy conservation, or similar field.
  • Previous experience working within an entrepreneurial environment and with remote teams.
  • Expertise in data management and semantic tagging.
