Title:  Vegetation Management Inspector

Type: Full Time, Non-Exempt

Responsibilities:

  • Identification, inspection, and evaluation of trees and brush along utility
  • Submit inspection results to clients with
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate the activities of assigned line-clearance
  • Discuss and negotiate line-clearance crew access
  • Serve as a liaison between clients, tree crews, and client
  • Safeguards employees and public from hazards in and around the work
  • Helps enforce on-the-job safety
  • Carries and utilizes materials, tools, and equipment at work site.
  • Services truck and equipment. Keeps trucks and other assigned equipment in a neat and orderly fashion. Reports the need for equipment and truck repairs to

Requirements:

  • Must meet all qualifications of Utility Arborist 3 and perform any assigned duties associated with all preceding levels
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in UVM consulting
  • Must hold ISA Certified Arborist Certification
  • Must be an ISA Utility Specialist within 6 months
  • Must be PA Department of Agriculture Commercial Pesticide Licensed (Category 10) or equivalent upon approval from DLC
  • Must participate and assume full responsibilities of on-call and/or storm rotation as Primary and Secondary on-call VM representative
  • Must be able to work fairly and responsibility, with guidance, as a VM Inspector and adhere to all requirements of this position according to DLC Specifications, Scope of Work, and Terms and Conditions of the Purchase Agreement
  • Must perform selective herbicide applications as needed
  • Responsible for timely performance of all contract administration duties as necessary for T&D maintenance and capital
  • Must be able to firmly manage to DLC expectations and oversee contractor performance and production to meet DLC schedule and budget expectations
  • Must have the ability to thoroughly evaluate UVM processes and create recommendations for enhancement

  • Must successfully complete one (1) ISA Hazard Tree or one (1) ISA Tree Risk Assessment training course within six (6) months (Note: Hazard tree course may include ISA credential course or program presented by qualified instructors that is recognized as valuable by the ISA in the form of a minimum of 4 CEUs)
  • Must possess well-developed communication skills along with the ability to gain trust and confidence with peers and contractors while driving and accomplishing desired results
  • Must work overtime hours as required. Overtime approval by Manager of DLC Vegetation Management required
  • Must be in good standing with employer and DLC at all times, and as scored in DLC field audits (95%), with Zero Tolerance personally and professionally for unsafe work practices
