Operates block production machinery and performs other tasks required to operate concrete block manufacturing plant.

Job Summary

  • Manually lift and carry blocks to and from pallets and other plant locations, keeping pace with production line.
  • Loads specified amounts of ingredients into bins or hoppers.
  • Adjusts machine controls to proper settings.
  • Monitors machine operations to ensure that quality and efficiency standards are met.
  • Performs block production machinery cleaning and maintenance.
  • Changes molds as needed to produce different types of blocks in quantities needed.
  • Troubleshoots block production machinery and performs basic repairs.
  • Performs proper housekeeping tasks throughout the work shift.
  • Performs all other tasks needed to optimize plant block production.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School degree or equivalent.
  • One to three months related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to operate front end loader, and use basic hand tools.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to regularly walk and stand up to 10 hours at a time; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; repetitive lift up to 50 pounds; and use peripheral vision.
  • Ability to occasionally sit; climb; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell; and lift up to 75 pounds.
