Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The essential duties for this position include but are not limited to:

  1. Responsibility for the evaluation of database software purchases.
  2. Supervision of modifications to any existing database software to meet the needs of company.
  3. Provide guidance on data storage.
  4. Inform end users of changes in databases and train them to utilize systems.
  5. Ensure security of company data.
  6. Monitor and maintain system health and security.
  7. Monitor daily backup processes.
  8. Create database management procedures.
  9. Evaluate data analysis models and procedures.
  10. Build deployment and validation
  11. Configure database servers.
  12. Participate in company’s cross-training programs.
  13. Other duties as assigned by your manager. 

Qualifications and Desired Skills

  • Experience with MySQL and Oracle database system.
  • Advanced knowledge of database structure and theory.
  • Familiarity with reporting tools.
  • Familiar with Installation & Configuration of database servers.
  • Experience with Data extraction, transformation and loading.
  • Experience with Database backup and recovery procedures
  • Knowledge of database performance tuning at the OS level
  • Experience in user management and table space management
  • Experience working with cloud-based environments - AWS
  • Experience developing stored procedures and views
  • Experience working with replication technologies highly desirable
  • Familiar with relational modelling concepts
  • Experience  with query tuning and optimization
