Payroll Tax Analyst

The Payroll Tax Analyst is responsible for delivering exceptional quality service and effective communication with their team and external customers. In this position, you will prepare and process accurate and timely multi-state and multi-jurisdiction withholding tax payments. This will include returns and reconciliations if applicable. You will also maintain tax setups and research changing laws and rates to ensure compliance.


What Do You Offer Us? 

  • Ensure organization’s compliance with payroll tax reporting and withholdings requirements including current tax laws and rate changes
  • Accountable for processing daily, monthly and quarterly taxes for over 8,000 employees across 15 different companies in nearly all 50 states
  • Work with ADP to handle tax filings
  • Ensure all payroll tax reports are sent over correctly and timely each day
  • Monitor setup of all employees within payroll system for state, local and county taxes
  • Send wire transfers over to the bank daily for all tax remittances
  • Review all weekly, bi-weekly and semi-monthly payrolls to ensure taxes are correctly set up
  • Process W2 forms for the company on a yearly basis
  • Correct any tax adjustments on withholding and unemployment and process amendments as necessary
  • Set up new states and/or locals for companies as they enter different jurisdictions
  • Review, research and address questions related to taxes, unemployment or state agency notices
  • Balance all general ledger payroll tax accounts
  • Work with auditors as needed for all internal and external audits
  • All other duties as assigned

What is Required? 

  • Two or more years of experience in multi-state payroll tax preparation
  • Knowledge of local/county and paid family leave withholding tax issues, including PA, OH, KY and MI
  • Two or more years of payroll processing experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team-based environment
  • Ability to solve complex multi-state payroll tax issues
