The responsibilities of the EHS Specialist includes the planning, development and maintenance of a comprehensive laboratory safety program to recognize, eliminate and control occupational health hazards and incidences in the workplace setting. These responsibilities will include direct interaction with all MDxHealth personnel. This position will perform duties to maintain compliance with all applicable regulatory agencies, (California OSHA, Orange County Environmental Health, EPA, College of American Pathologists), perform accident investigation and reporting, laboratory safety inspections, development and administration of safety training, and maintenance of key elements of the MDxHealth laboratory safety program.  

  • Bachelor's Degree and 3-5 years of EHS experience and 2 years of experience in a diagnostics laboratory a plus
  • EHS Certificate and First Aid & CPR instructor training certification a plus
  • Technical training covering OSHA, California EPA (Hazardous and Medical Waste reporting), or related workplace regulation (Ergonomics), guidelines and standards
  • Experience working with Orange County Department of Environmental Health, and California Environmental Reporting Systems (CERS) software
  • Experience with laboratory safety, Hazardous Chemicals (The Right to Know) and chemical inventory record keeping
  • Excellent interpersonal, motivational, organizational and communication skills. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment and consistently delivering projects on or before expected due dates
  • Experience interacting with regulatory external auditors
