PMI is looking for dedicated individuals who are ready to work and who thrive in both a team-oriented and independent environment.  Successful candidates will have prior experience in assembly and be capable of assembling agriculture components into completed agriculture equipment.  Qualified candidates will need to ensure a safe and clean working environment.  This will require working with management to ensure timeline requirements are met.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Know and apply all relevant OSHA, PMI and customer safety policies, procedures and practices.
  • Work with 120- and 480-volt electrical components in an industrial setting, such as limit switches, multi-conductor wire and encoders.
  • Cut, thread, bend and install IMC conduit within Shop tolerances.
  • Report to Shop Manager on a daily basis the progress, problems, needs and all other necessary information to promote the success of the team.
  • Be an advocate for unity and integrity among all team members in the shop, recognizing the value of each team member and the role they serve.
  • Unload, inventory and maintain all Schumacher Elevator materials, tools, hardware and material handling equipment used in the assembly of towers.
  • Maintain daily production schedules to ensure completion target dates are achieved.
  • Coordinate with Shop lead to assure seamless production schedules and large equipment usage.
  • Set up and operate a variety of powered, hand-held drills, grinders and saws, as well as appropriate non-powered hand tools required to perform tasks.
  • Drive and operate PMI trucks, forklifts, boom lifts and bridge cranes after receiving training and when authorized.
  • Actively discuss job-related information with co-workers and supervisors for the purposes of understanding and problem-solving.
  • Complete all other duties as assigned.

Candidates will be considered who have a high school diploma or equivalent.  Consistent with company values, the candidate must have the desire to learn new processes as well as continue training in a given trade to develop skills.

Competencies and Experience

  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Ability to pass DOT physical and maintain medical card.
  • The ability to lift up to 70 lbs. as well as handle, move, carry, push, pull, lift and lower tools, materials, equipment and structures continually throughout the work day.
  • Knowledge and experience of hand and power tools.  General knowledge of wiring and electrical components a plus.
