Adoption Counselor - Sioux Falls Area Humane Society

Are you an animal lover who is wanting to help match those looking for a companion to their perfect pet? Do you like to work in a fast-paced environment with some high traffic to keep things moving and provide friendly, excellent customer service? If so, this is the job for you! We are seeking passionate, caring, reliable and outgoing PT Adoption Counselor!

This position is PT at 28-32 hours/week, with some weekdays and must be able to work weekends (of course we do give weekends off for work/life balance).  

What will you do!

*  Assist the general public with services provided by the SFAHS, such as adoptions, admitting pets, releasing strays, advising with animal-related questions, etc.

* Various clerical duties, keeping the front office area clean/organized; work with retail items. 

* Provide excellent, high-level customer service to co-workers and customers.

* Experience with interacting with animals, vet clinic exp, retail experience working with animals/pets highly desired for this role.

* Must have good work history and experience is highly beneficial.  

We are looking for the “purrfect” candidate who loves animals, is comfortable working directly with the public, and is a dependable team player! Customer service experience strongly preferred. Must be 18 years or older. 

Competitive compensation $11.75/hour for plus some benefits!
