MCG Civil is a heavy civil construction management company. After building one of the largest locally owned civil construction companies in Colorado, MCG acquires and manages companies performing heavy civil capabilities within the United States.


We are seeking a highly motivated System Administrator to join our team in our Castle Rock, CO office. This position will be responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization.


The System Administrator will work under the direction of the Information Technology Manager. The ideal candidate will be professional, adaptable, dedicated, and highly experienced.

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
•Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes.
•Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing the impact of issues.
•Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new upgrades to IT infrastructure.
•Perform or delegate regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.
•Lead desktop and helpdesk support efforts, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions.
•Responsible for capacity, storage planning, and database performance.
•Strong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols.
•Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
• 5+ years of demonstrated technical problem-solving experience, this is not an entry-level position, therefore, you must bring advanced-level skills to this position. Your prior experience should include roles working in network administration, network engineering and design, virtualization technology, and server build and maintenance duties.
• PowerShell Scripting/Automation Experience (not required)
• An understanding of Microsoft Terminal and VMware virtualization technologies and how they function in an enterprise network.
• Clear history of project leadership and project completion is required.
• VMWare – 3-5 years (Required)
• Hyper-V – 2 years (Required)
• General System administration: 5 years (Required)
• Azure Files – 3 years minimum (Required)
• AD Hybrid Cloud 5 year (Required)
• Experience managing multiple people required.
• Experience working for a management company overseeing multiple companies preferred.
• HPE dHCI GreenLake Solution 2 years (Required)
• HPE StoreOnce 3 years (Required)

Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at times.
• Able to use hands and repeat the same movements.


Work Environment:
• Office-based work with varying temperatures.


Job Type: Full-time, Exempt


Salary: $70,000 to $90,000, Based on Experience
