The Diversity and Opportunity Manager will cultivate a supportive and inclusive work environment for all our employees.  Job responsibilities include creating company policies, implementing inclusion programs and applying objective hiring procedures.  The Diversity and Opportunity Manger will ultimately ensure that Fred Smith Company is providing equal opportunities to all candidates and employees regardless of their protected characteristics, and maintain a diverse workplace.

Description

  • Manages the administration of programs that promote employee and sub contractor diversity.
  • Designs and implements procedures to ensure compliance with internal policies and external diversity regulations.
  • Oversees initiatives to foster knowledge and adoption of diversity and opportunity topics and best practices.
  • Ensures the organization employs strategies to attract develop and retain members of underrepresented groups.
  • Uses statistics, metrics and reports to assess the progress and effectiveness of diversity initiatives.
  • In conjunction with Workforce Development and the company’s EEO officer, assist with the development of appropriate EEO and diversity training for the company’s employees.
  • Ensures that project milestones and goals are met and adhere to approved budgets.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a Human Resources Manager or Consultant role
  • Hands on experience building company EEO and anti-discriminatory policies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including proven dispute resolution skills
  • Thorough understanding of federal, state and local equal employment opportunity laws and regulations
