We are seeking a leader to oversee operations and enhance our customer's Vegetation Management program.

Job Summary: 

Assume responsibility for our work assignment and ensure jobs are managed to customer's program specifications, industry regulations (CPUC, OSHA, DOT) and internal company policies. Conduct our business to meet existing program needs and provide solutions to the growing needs of our customer's VM program. 

Provide leadership and guide operations to deliver sustained operational safety and quality results.

 Essential Job Functions:

• Ensure operational excellence with respect to safety and quality of work by thoroughly understanding customer's requirements, regulator's requirements (CPUC, OSHA, DOT), internal company policies and effectively communicating requirements to field operations.
• Audit field operations to determine whether we are conducting business consistent with our programs created to ensure operational excellence.   
• Provide leadership, direction and support for all crews and employees under your responsibility.
• Provide solutions/support/assistance to utility customers, governmental agencies and the public. 
• Responsible for staffing decisions (hiring, discharge and promotions).
• Ensure proper administration of training, discipline, work production and enforce company policy and work procedures. 
• Validate Foreperson crew training and ensure Forepersons are qualified to assume responsibility of their crew and qualified to solve work problems as they occur.  
• Direct operations both routine and emergency situations, leads incident investigations and fills out reports.
• Responsible for cost control and cost management oversight.
• Assume responsibility for the accuracy of records, proper working conditions of tools and equipment.
• Perform other related work as assigned.   

 Minimum Requirements: 

• Must pursue and obtain ISA Arborist certification. 
• Must possess mental and physical endurance to work throughout an eight or ten-hour shift. 

• Must be able Cooperate with Utility Representatives, governmental agencies, internal staff and general public.

• Must be able to write, read and comprehend written and verbal job instructions/information.

• Must be able to use a computer, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and similar related programs. 

• Able to interpret work assignment/diagrams (on tablet) provided by Supervision.
• Capable of adjusting to field requirements and take independent action without close supervision.

• Able to multi-task and produce in a high paced team-oriented environment.

• Must be organized and detail oriented to ensure task(s) are completed timely and accurately.

• Must be able to meet short deadlines and be able to multi-task.

• Must be able to drive a company vehicle, enter and exit numerous times a day.
• Must be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments, i.e., rain, heat, sun, cold.
• Must be able to traverse various terrains.
• Must be able to communicate and handle confrontations professionally. 
• Must be able to work long hours and overtime during emergencies (including holidays, weekends, etc.).
• Must be able to pass a Motor Vehicle Records check.
