Job Summary:

Act as a liaison between employees and benefits companies assisting in the coordination and administration of benefits programs for employees including health insurance, dental insurance, flexible benefits, group legal plan and employee assistance program. The ideal candidate should have good working knowledge of all Benefits offered, with a specialization in Leave Administration. This individual must have a high attention to detail along with the understanding of benefit regulatory requirements. Ensuring service excellence and adherence to competencies is one of the key components to this role.  Accountable for the processing and maintenance of employee benefit elections as assigned under the direct supervision of the Benefits Administrator.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate all leave requests; FMLA, Disability, PFL, NJ FLA etc.
  • Answer FMLA inquires accurately, with a high focus on empathy.
  • Enter all Healthcare waivers in ADP - EV5.
  • Assist new hires with online Benefit Enrollment Portal.
  • Data entry of all voluntary benefits (Transit, Life, STD, etc.); Medical, Dental and Vision enrollments in ADP EV5 system for new hires and existing employees.
  • Responsible for conducting/presenting Benefits section of new hire Orientation biweekly.
  • Present & assist with annual open enrollment meetings.
  • Answer benefit inquiries and resolves employee benefit issues in a timely, accurate manner.
  • Update employees on current Benefits offered.
  • Assist employees with annual Open Enrollment (Benefit Enrollment Portal).                  
  • Responsible for entering all impactful changes as it relates to termination of employees.
  • Process benefits terminations to ensure that the employee has the necessary information (e.g., COBRA, disability, 401k, etc.).
  • Assist with Wellness Program coordination.
  • Ensure accurate website Benefit information.
  • Answer main Benefits line as needed.
  • Act as backup for Benefits Administrator, as necessary.
  • Assist with Benefit audits as needed.
  • Assist with special projects as requested by management.
  • Other related duties as assigned (Flu Shots Bulletin – Annually).

Necessary Skills:

  • Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively and professionally.
  • Strong customer service skills a must.
  • Solid knowledge of MS Office Suite required.
  • Must possess strong organizational skills and be detailed oriented.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.

Qualifications:

Minimum Education:

  • Associates degree preferred or the equivalent in education, training, and experience.

Minimum Experience:

  • Experience may substitute for degree, minimum 2 years’ experience working in an office environment.
  • 3 years Benefits Administration background experience required.
  • Minimum of 2 years leave management experience.
  • Must possess considerable knowledge of HR policies, principles, and procedures.
