JOB SUMMARY:

The HR Specialist will collaborate with department managers on a regular basis and proactively identify future hiring needs.  The successful candidate will be able to attract candidates using various sources, like social media networks, community networks and employee referrals.  Ultimately, the responsibilities of the Recruiter are to ensure our company attracts, hires, and retains the best employees, while growing a strong talent pipeline.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists in the development of the overall recruiting strategy
  • Assists in the updating of job descriptions and job postings
  • Ensures compliance is being met with the Company’s Affirmative Action Goals as it pertains to hiring, training and documentation processes
  • Successfully completes the onboarding/orientation process with all new hires; to include entering the new hire into the HRIS system
  • Assists in screening and interviewing candidates while assess the applicant’s relevant knowledge, skills, soft skills, experience, and aptitudes
  • Acts as a point of contact to build influential candidate relationships during the selection process
  • Prepares recruitment materials and post jobs to appropriate job board/newspapers/colleges, etc.
  • Assist with intern program

 QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate degree with bachelor’s degree preferred, or a combination of schooling and experience
  • A minimum of two (2) years of recruiting experience in the preferred area of Construction/Manufacturing Industry
  • Knowledge and experience in recruiting tactics, networking, and Diverse Workforce
  • Interpersonal relationship building and coaching skills
  • Excellent computer skills in the Microsoft 365 platform, HRIS systems
  • Experience in the administration of benefits

 CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • SHRM or PHR certification is preferred

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • None

PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Office environment with moderate noise levels
  • Mostly sedentary role with the need to move about the office to copy, scan, fax, and file
  • May require the light lifting of storage boxes
  • May require consistent time spent on the computer and phone throughout the day
  • May require travel to various Davis-Ulmer Company locations
