ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Is this the right position to help you achieve your professional goals?  Some of the key responsibilities for the position include:

  • Fieldwork such as soil, surface water and groundwater sampling, stormwater inspections, drilling and contractor oversight, and remediation treatment system operation and maintenance;
  • Analytical data and contaminant fate & transport evaluation;
  • Well installation, aquifer testing, and groundwater monitoring;
  • Groundwater and soil remedy evaluation, cost estimation, design calculations, and implementation;
  • Environmental due diligence, regulatory compliance services, and permitting;
  • Analysis, interpretation, and management of environmental data using applicable data management/spreadsheet, statistical, and graphing computer applications;
  • Use of geographic information system (GIS) computer applications to gather, manage, and analyze data; and
  • Preparation of technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals.

  • Training: This position requires health and safety, first aid, CPR, 40-hour HAZWOPER, and other training, as well as medical monitoring, paid for by the firm. We also offer professional development opportunities including in-house seminars, webinars, and mentoring, that allow our employees to build the technical and business skills necessary to become successful consultants. 
  • Fieldwork: Up to 50%
  • Overnight travel: Up to 50%

EDUCATION AND LICENSURE

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental, civil, or chemical engineering. (required)
  • Advanced degree in environmental engineering. (preferred)

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Detail-oriented with ability to work independently and on multidisciplinary teams. (required)
  • Ability and desire to obtain applicable professional registration such as Professional Engineer (PE) when eligible. (required)
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written, with ability to explain technical material to peers, clients, and informed laypersons. (required)
  • Ability and desire to apply technical skills to new practice areas and problems. (required)
  • Experience with Microsoft software (i.e., Word, Excel, Access, Project). (required)
  • Prior research experience in contaminated media, remediation technology, or stormwater management. (preferred)
  • Prior internship experience in environmental consulting. (preferred)
  • Experience with ArcGIS, Microsoft Access, Modflow, and/or EVS. (preferred) 
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
