About the Job
We are looking for a Safety Trainer to join our Safety group. The Safety Trainer provides safety support, leadership and technical expertise on assigned projects.  Coordinates efforts to employees are onboarded and trained properly. 
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Incumbent must have the skills, ability, and judgment to perform the following essential job duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation:
  • Safety Training – Training is provided for, but not limited to the following subjects as appropriate to the hazards and conditions presented by the job and duties of employees:
    • New Hire Orientation and future updates
    • Leadership Training
    • Competent Person in Trenching and Excavation
    • Rigging and Signal Person
    • Confined Space
    • Accident Investigation
    • Temporary Traffic Control
    • Substance Abuse Awareness Training
    • Substation Orientation
    • Forklift Training
    • OSHA Training
    • FA/CPR/AED
    • Horizontal Directional Drilling Safety
    • Additional client requirements
  • Updating new hire/re-hire safety onboarding training matrix and spreadsheet.
  • Assist workers in web-based trainings.
  • Assign workers in web-based training resources, not limited to the following:
    • Railroad Orientation
    • Driver Orientation
    • OSHA Trainings
    • Client Requirements
  • Input daily/weekly timecard for employees in training.
  • Work with safety and other departments in accordance with the onboarding procedures.
  • Updating and scanning training records.
  • Occasional travel or field visit to perform safety trainings.
  • Organize Personal Protective Equipment for employees.
  • And other duties as assigned.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
KEY JOB REQUIREMENTS
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Minimum 3 years of Safety Training Experience mostly held in a classroom learning environment.
  • Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Safety & Health or other technical courses is a plus.
  • Minimum High School Diploma.
  • Experience/Familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher and PowerPoint.
  • Board of Certified Safety Professional Cert. (CHST, OHST, CSP, CIT) is a plus but not required.
  • OSHA 500 certification is a plus or has the ability to pass and acquire in the future.
  • Other safety certification/s is a plus (e.g. ATTSA, Competent Person In Excavation, Rigging and Signal, Confined Spaces) and has the ability to teach safety training courses.
  • Ability to communicate and relate in a professional manner
  • Willing to work in a fast pace working environment.
  • Ability to maintain composure especially when under pressure.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The requirements listed below are representative of the physical ability required.
  • Carry 30 pounds 1 to 3 times per shift
  • Sit and stand for long periods of time
