The High Level

Reading Partners is seeking a dynamic, driven, and collaborative School Partnerships Manager to lead the continued financial growth and meaningful scale of our impact in support of our strategic growth plan. Throughout the year, the School Partnerships Manager will be directly responsible for managing new school acquisition to meet our ambitious growth goals. This target-focused role will see the acquisition and account management process of new school partnerships from research & outreach, to negotiating agreements, leading a  successful program handoff, and renewing partnerships for the following school year. This position will also manage several program projects and partnerships, including collaborations with marketing and communications, and the development and integration of new education and engagement services.  The ideal candidate demonstrates experience in developing collaborative relationships within and across departments and with external stakeholders, inspiring and motivating others, solving complex problems, and prioritization. 

This role is expected to be an active and engaged member of the Reading Partners team and possess a strong passion for supporting students to become lifelong readers. This position will work collaboratively within a team, under the leadership of the Director of Development and External Relations. 

 

What you’ll do:

Grow our regional school footprint for increased impact

  • Present our holistic approach and our value proposition for school partnerships to decision makers.
  • Lead on the building of partnerships pipeline to increase impact according to our three year regional growth strategy and in the schools and districts that are of the highest strategic priority across the Bay Area
  • Support renewal and retention of former and existing partnerships
  • Identify new partnerships potential, establishing and exceeding programmatic reach and fee for service (FFS) revenue goals
  • Own the region to create and refine an integrated school partnership strategy for growing future services and partnerships within the region.

Provide best-in-class account management solutions

  • In collaboration with the Director of Development, meet monthly and annual targets by creating campaigns focused on prospecting and developing a strong pipeline of new partnerships
  • Serve as a liaison between Reading Partners and budget leaders who have purchased services by representing at events, meetings and consultative visits
  • Collaborate with Program Director to support the management of existing school partnerships ensuring effective relationships and communications
  • Ensure efficient data collection and administration for all partners by inputting all pertinent information into our internal CRM (Salesforce)
  • Collaborate with staff to ensure the successful delivery of quality of services and sustainable impact

  • Demonstrate an ability to create processes and systems to streamline internal operations in the region. Demonstrate a high level of comfort with ambiguity, and an ability to create order. Demonstrate an aptitude for framing problems as opportunities, and always pushing to further streamline.

You’ll be successful in this role if you:

  • Demonstrated school partnership best practices; preferably K-12 school sites and districts
  • Hold a strong track record of successfully managing contacts and pipeline in CRM 
  • Adept at  facilitating customer cultivation and negotiations
  • Excellent relationship management, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience managing long term partnerships with focus on success mapping for school partners
  • Takes initiative and is a self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Experience collecting, analyzing and interpreting data
  • Can prove eligibility to work in the U.S. legally

  • We offer a competitive salary commensurate with experience. This is a full-time, exempt. salaried position. Pay starts at $62,000.

The other stuff you need to know

  • Travel: This position travels regularly throughout the Bay Area
  • Typical Physical & Mental Demands: Requires prolonged sitting with some bending, stooping and stretching, and eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, telephone, photocopier, calculator and other office equipment.  Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to communicate with volunteers and staff. Also requires flexibility to readily adapt to a changing environment.
