Position Summary: The Estimator I compiles and analyzes information on jobs regarding costs and specifications. They assist in resolving problems with orders and aid Sales Managers by addressing customer concerns.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assures accurate estimates by gathering specifications, drawings and related documents for complete project information
- Compiles project costs by analyzing project details using company computer hardware and software
- Resolves cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information in order to detect problems with costing methods, assumptions and procedures
- Presents prepared estimates to the Regional Sales Manager by assembling and organizing numerical and descriptive cost information in a format approved by the company
- Aids assigned Regional Sales Manager by facilitating customer requests and addressing questions or concerns via customer phone call, email or facsimile
- Contributes to the team effort by effectively communicating and working well with members of the Estimation group as well as other departments and personnel to accomplish assigned tasks and projects as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
Education: Associate’s degree in related field preferred
Experience: 2 years recent experience in construction, engineering or customer service preferred
Skills & Abilities:
- Ability/familiarity with construction drawing and/or blue prints desired
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills required
- Strong computer skills including, but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook required
- Clerical experience, ability to run general office equipment, required
- Strong English verbal and written communication skills required
- Regular and timely attendance is required
Physical Requirements:
- This is an office position requiring the use of office equipment such as a computer, copier, fax, phone, etc. most of the day.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to type, finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
- Frequently required to sit; talk and hear
- Occasionally required to lift and /or move up to 25 pounds
