Job Title:  Field Service Technician - Fire Suppression

Location: Butler, WI

Blair Fire Protection has an opening for an experienced and mechanically minded, Field Service Technician, to service fire suppression systems. 

 The Field Service Technician will travel to current customer sites (primarily Metro-Milwaukee area) to service and maintain portable fire extinguishers, emergency/exit lights, and the installation of pre-engineered systems. 

  Day in the Life of a Field Service Technician - Fire Protection Industry

  • Servicing equipment from extinguishers to emergency lights, and suppression systems; performing maintenance, recharging, repair, and hydrostatic testing
  • Advise customers on fire protection equipment and techniques, fire codes, standards, and compliance
  • Perform site surveys to educate customers of required related fire protection equipment
  • Monitor and maintain the proper working order of company vehicle and recharge equipment
  • Explain product capabilities, warranties, product usages, and challenges, to customers
  • Comply and enforce safety requirements while on company property/ site
  • Manage the set-up of all servicing routes and customer site visits

 

What skills do I need to qualify for this job?  

  • Experience in the fire protection industry, specifically the servicing of fire extinguishers and suppression products, preferred
  • Education in industry and skilled trade, desired, as well as solid mechanical aptitude
  • Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry compliance
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal communication
  • Time Management – strong ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Valid driver’s license and excellent driving record to operate company vehicle required
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • A drug test is required
