Safety Trainer

The Safety Trainer will provide support to the Operation groups as it pertains to the Safety program. Promotes safe work practices and influences safe work behavior.

  • Coordinates the execution and delivery of instructor-led training
  • Conducts in-person and virtual safety training courses for customers and/or employees
  • Works with all departments to ensure that course material reflects current product features
  • Develop content and deliver course materials as per the specific course
  • Documents lesson plans and mentor other educators
  • Conceptualize and design blocks of training, seminars, workshops, and entire courses, creating hardcopy, electronic, and multi-media presentations
  • Provide and/or manage monthly or annual ongoing/refresher training in topics relevant to the service and service area in a timely manner
  • Coordinate equipment in support of training purposes as specified in the applicable instructor training programs
  • Formulate learning/teaching objectives, craft and/or revise course syllabi and lesson plans, develop standards to evaluate student products, and conduct needs assessments
  • Develops and monitors reports on the effectiveness of programs by establishing relevant evaluation metrics and collection capabilities; demonstrates the use of quality improvement in daily operations
  • Seeks new approaches and practices to improve the training department and the company
  • All other assigned duties by Supervisor or assigned by other members of the Safety Department

 What is Required?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupations Health and Safety or equivalent experience
  • Training experience – 3 years of adult education/instructor
  • Ability to travel 50% of the time
  • OSHA 500 or 501
  • 3-5 years of Fall protections, Safety at heights experience
  • ASP or CSP Certification preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office

Physical Requirements:

  • May be required to lift, carry and move up to 50lbs
  • Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves, and leather steel-toed work boots
