For over 110 years Childhaven has been a leader in serving children, families, and communities that have experienced trauma and adversity. In the past few years, we have been adding services and locations, becoming more community-based, and forming partnerships to increase our impact. ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:

Childhaven is seeking a dynamic Substance Use Disorder Supervisor to support us in achieving our mission, vision, goals, and values. This is a hands-on role that provides administrative and clinical supervision to prevention, outreach, and treatment staff, while also providing appropriate, professional counseling for substance using youth and their families.  The Substance Use Disorder Supervisor will work closely with the Clinical Director in the development and implementation of procedures/protocols and quality assurance, assist with internship programming and oversight, as well as program development. Offering services in assisting adolescents in gaining and maintaining sobriety and help them develop adequate community-based support systems.  Providing a multi-culturally sensitive environment which will address the needs of racially diverse youth and parents to discuss issues of recovery from substance dependency/abuse, and development of healthy emotionally supportive living situations which promote and support sobriety and recovery.

Above all, the selected candidate will bring enthusiasm for helping us build a dynamic Substance Use Disorder Team that passionately works to support youth, families, and communities in recovery.  This position is primarily based out of the Renton Location and will report to the Clinical Director.

Primary Job Duties:

Provide Substance Use Disorder Counseling

• Ensure that performance standards and reporting requirements are met
• Assess and identify program needs, suggest strategies for solutions, develop program plans, schedule work, conduct assessments and develop procedures for the program as needed.
• Oversees and monitors clinical record keeping of staff/interns, provides Quality Assurance, ensure case records are accurate and timely manner per all WAC, State and King County requirements.
• Develop and maintain positive relations with community referral sources.
• Meet with Clinical Director on a regular basis and attend required meetings, consultations, and trainings.
• Provide assessments and carry a caseload of clients for Substance Use Disorder Treatment
• Monitor client progress towards goals, modify plans and refer clients to appropriate services as necessary

• Provide on-going group, individual and family counseling to clients who require substance use disorder treatment or have maintained abstinence for a sufficient length of time to benefit from aftercare services as appropriate.
• Provide ‘best-practice’ treatment modalities which encourage self-sufficiency, improve cultural awareness, and assist in participation in the community. 
• Collect demographic, treatment retention and treatment outcome data and provide timely reports.
• Enter client information into the Electronic Health Record (HER) system meeting required timelines.
• Participate in on-going professional development, in-service trainings and continuing education with a primary focus on substance use, adolescent development and family dynamics. 
• Provide outreach services to clients as needed in community and school settings

Requirements:

• B.A. /B.S. Degree in Social Sciences or Social Work preferred.  (A.A. with additional experience may be considered).
• Must meet the minimum standards for qualifications as a Substance Use Disorder Professional

• Maintains qualifications as an Approved Supervisor (has completed the required trainings for supervision approved by the Department of Health and meets WAC requirements as an approved supervisor.)
• Must have comprehensive knowledge of and experience in working with adolescent substance use.
• Must have comprehensive knowledge and experience in family dynamics and counseling.

Preferred:

• Knowledge of King County Behavioral Health Services, including Mental Health Services, Juvenile Justice.
• Two years’ experience as a SUDP/T working as with “at risk” youth and/or families.
• Multi-Lingual
