Job Description

GEI Consultants Inc – Savanta Division is seeking a full time Marine/Coastal Inspector to join our growing team of professionals. The Marine/coastal inspector would work collaboratively with the Construction Management Team and GEI’s various departments to assist our Client focused requirements and elevate our profile within the consulting industry.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with Construction Management team, including:

  • Marine/coastal field/site inspections for both private and public clients;
  • Create and maintain accurate and detailed project records (i.e. daily reports, as-constructed data, site instructions/directives, etc…);
  • Coordinate Project activities;
  • Ensure conformance with the Contract requirements (specifications, materials, etc…);
  • Liaise with municipal inspectors to ensure compliance with municipal requirements;
  • Create and maintain accurate and detailed project records; and
  • Review drawings and provide comments with regards to constructability.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years professional experience in a site setting as a Marine/Coastal Inspector;
  • Certificate, Diploma or Degree as a Civil Engineering Technologist/Technician;
  • Scuba Diving experience, PADI or equivalent certification preferred;
  • Knowledge of marine/coastal standard engineering construction principles, techniques and practices;
  • Strong written and verbal communication, organization and time management skills;
  • Experience managing projects and clients;
  • Excellent understanding of technical drawings, detailing and specifications;
  • Proficient with MS Office 365 (Word, Excel and Outlook); and
  • A vehicle and valid Ontario Driver’s License – ‘G’ Class
