ABOUT THE ROLE

The Early Supports for Infants & Toddlers Director (ESIT) Program Manager position reports to the Senior Director of Early Learning and Home Visiting. This position will have the opportunity to help us further develop and scale a best-in-class birth to three ESIT program. This position will staff, plan, organize, implement, grow, and monitor all components of the ESIT program, while working collaboratively with internal and external partners to ensure the needs of young children and their families are being met with excellence.  We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Speech Language Pathologist, Occupational Therapist, or Infant Mental Health Therapist who shares our vision and is also constructively dissatisfied with the status quo and heed the call to put service over self. This position will need to be well-versed and firmly committed to the principles of infant and early childhood mental health, relational health, healing centered care, and anti-racist practices.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Develop and implement an exceptionally high-quality ESIT program consistent with federal, state, and county rules and regulations, contracts, and today’s best practices.
  • Work with the ESIT team and other program leaders to integrate healing-centered, relationship-based, trauma-informed, and anti-racist infant and early childhood mental health principles throughout the program and organization.
  • Hire, train, inspire, and lead a team of qualified ESIT staff to ensure the highest quality services are being provided at all times.
  • Provide reflective and administrative supervision for Program Managers and front-line staff.
  • Help develop, implement, and maintain an efficient medical billing system and maximize fee for service and contract revenue by ensuring therapists achieve their billable time expectations and all timeline requirements are met.
  • Maintain current knowledge of evidence-based and evidence-informed practices and research.
  • Serve as strong ambassador to government contractors, donors and other potential supporters.
  • Network with referral sources and other Early Learning, ESIT and Home Visiting programs to share our Collective Impact vision and develop partnership opportunities.
  • Be willing and available to assist with assessments, Family Resources Coordination, and other direct service duties when needed.

  • Regularly review and strive to improve program finances, outcomes, and impact.
  • Maintain knowledge of and compliance with all ESIT federal Part C, and third-party payor contract requirements.
  • Maintain current knowledge of available community resources to make necessary referrals in order to best meet families’ needs.
  • Grow the program through ongoing internal and external education on the importance of early identification, early referral, and early support.
  • Monitor program revenue and expenses on a monthly basis making sure program is financially viable at all times.
  • Lead internal and external program audits, making constant improvements where gaps are identified.
  • Actively participate in reflective supervision meetings, team meetings and monthly all staff meetings.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities regarding anti-racism, oppression, and cultural competency and regularly assess own performance and program for related improvements.
  • Participate in ongoing job-related professional development, in-service trainings and continuing education.
  • Comply with all Childhaven policies and procedures.
  • Comply with the agency's policy and procedure regarding the identification and reporting of child abuse.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Firm commitment to family-centered, inclusive, interdisciplinary, and strengths-based ESIT best practices in natural environments
  • Experience leading and growing an ESIT team (preferably in King County Washington)
  • Experience recruiting, mentoring, and supporting interns and new graduates
  • Strong understanding of ESIT contracts and public and private insurance best practices
  • Ability to interpret financial statements and Key Performance Indicators
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
  • Experience using all aspects of an electronic medical records system
  • Strong knowledge of and commitment to anti-racism policy, practices, and procedures
  • Experience and demonstrated ability to successfully work within a diverse cultural setting and provide culturally dynamic, equitable and supportive services.
  • The ability to adapt to change and use flexible thinking.
  • Computer literacy; knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, Teams; and experience with Electronic Medical Record systems (e.g., Credible)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s Degree
  • Licensed Speech Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Infant Mental Health Therapist
  • 5+ years of experience leading a growing, evidence-based, cohesive ESIT team
  • Must pass background check and drug screen requirements
  • Valid WA state driver’s license and automobile insurance including access to dependable personal transportation
  • Specialized clinical training in infant/early childhood mental health frameworks, principles and strategies preferred.
  • Bi-lingual preferred.
