ABOUT THE ROLE

The Clinical Manager will provide clinical supervision to interns, licensed therapists and therapists working towards licensure who are providing assessment and clinical treatment to youth and families in the community. The Clinical Manager will work closely with the Clinical Director in the development and implementation of procedures/protocols and quality assurance, assist with internship programming and oversight, as well as program development.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Provides regular reflective, clinical, and administrative supervision to interns, licensed therapists and therapists working towards licensure.
• Coordinates client assignment for intake assessment, diagnosing and ensures staff/intern caseloads are full and equitable.
• Oversees and monitors clinical record keeping of staff/interns, provides Quality Assurance, ensure case records are accurate and timely manner per all WAC, State and King County requirements. Approves and co-signs clinical notes for supervisees (as needed) in EHR.
• Provide crisis coverage as need during normal business hours.
• Utilize agency programs/services in effort to provide a continuum of care.
• Develop and maintain positive relations with community referral sources.
• Meet with Clinical Director on a regular basis and attend required meetings, consultations and trainings.
• Represent Childhaven at meetings as required by Clinical Director and other duties as assigned by Clinical Director.
• Provide clinical coverage as needed/step in for Clinical Director.
• Participates in the recruitment, hiring, supervision, training and evaluates performance of all Outpatient Behavioral Health staff.
• Oversee creation, maintenance of Childhaven Internship Program-including relationships with schools, overseeing contracted supervisors as needed

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Master’s Degree in the mental health field with at least two years or more of supervisory responsibility/experience.
• Washington State license in mental health or equivalent in good standing.
• Maintains qualifications as an Approved Clinical Supervisor (has completed the Fifteen hours of training in clinical supervision approved by the Department of Health and meets WAC requirements as an approved clinical supervisor.)
• Multi-lingual preferred.
• Successful completion of a Washington State Patrol criminal background check.
• Satisfactory driving record with proof of auto liability insurance.
• Familiarity with King County Mental Health System preferred, but not required.
• Training and experience receiving and providing reflective supervision and consultation.
• Experience and demonstrated ability to successfully work within a diverse cultural setting and provide culturally dynamic, equitable and supportive services.
• Computer literacy; knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, Teams; and experience with Electronic Medical Record systems (e.g., Credible)
• Possess a valid driver’s license and safe driving record, have state required minimum automobile insurance, and be able to use own vehicle for the job.
• A cleared portable background check through Washington Department of Early Learning and Childhaven.
• Maintain current certifications including first aid, HIV, and blood borne pathogens.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Knowledge of various counseling approaches for individual and family counseling, crisis intervention and brief therapy.
• Knowledge of Performance and Quality Improvement process.
• Knowledge of group process.
• Ability to develop and monitor goal-directed treatment relationships.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to read, write and speak in English.
• Ability to work in a community setting, marketing services and developing community resources.
• Experience and familiarity with Proven Programs, Best Practices, Evidence-based service systems.
• Must demonstrate sensitivity and responsiveness to cultural diversity.
• Be able to balance reflective, clinical and administrative supervision for direct reports.
• Possess the ability to make sound decisions in emergency situations.
• Adhere to mandated reporting and contracting requirements.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES

Work is performed in an office and/or school environment with extensive periods of time sitting. Individual will use computer requiring hand/wrist/finger movement and viewing of computer monitor. Ability to stand for periods of time during group facilitation.
