The Business Intelligence Specialist will be accountable for developing, implementing, and supporting enterprise Data Architecture and Business Intelligence capabilities in a timely and accurate manner.  As a data expert, will be responsible to gather and analyze data to solve complex problems and evaluate scenarios to make predictions on future outcomes and support decision making.  Acting independently, serves as a technical expert in data architecture and analytics.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop and implement robust data architecture and BI solutions to serve the needs of our business
• Analyze existing databases, reports, and processes for opportunities to further automate or simplify utilizing modern tools
• Act as Product Owner for BI and analytics platforms.
• Develop a practical roadmap for an enterprise-wide data architecture, BI and analytics platform and recommend appropriate technologies to support the implementation
• Define the overall data architecture, including ETL processes, data warehouse, and data marts.
• Accountable to ensure logical and physical data models support the analytic needs of the business
• Provide day to day support and maintenance for existing ETL and BI reports
• Provide technical and architectural guidance to projects and teams, ensuring that new initiatives enable effective solutions.
• Collaborates with stakeholders and the Lakeside technical team facilitating business requirements definition via the methodical investigation, analysis, consultation, review, and documentation. 
• Creates viable and consumable specifications, including acceptance criteria, in preparation for the sign-off, construction, and testing of solutions.
• Evaluate data collected through stakeholder interaction, task analysis, business processes, business intelligence, analytics, surveys and workshops to enable data-informed decisions.
• Provide technical knowledge and business support to the team.
• Make recommendations, give direction to others and perform work independently or with minimal supervision.
• Provide professional and prudent communications working in a team environment
• Work closely with IT Project Manager(s) and Business Analyst(s) to deliver resources to projects in a timely and effective manner.
• Serve as internal expert - assisting product owners and departments with training, implementation and troubleshooting

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

• Experience working with Microsoft BI Suite (SSIS, Power BI, SSRS, SSAS) and/or Tableau.
• Expertise creating and maintaining reliable data pipelines
• Proven data warehousing and data mart development expertise
• Complex SQL Server development and performance tuning skills
• Excellent data integration and data mapping experience
• Python/R experience
• Finance, Asset Management, and construction industry experience required
• Commitment to continuous learning and personal development
• Exceptional analytical, conceptual, technical and people skills
• Proven organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize and balance workload
• Excellent communicator of both verbal and written content with an attention to detail
• Ability to handle confidential client and company information
• Ability to travel; occasional overnight domestic travel may be required

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree required in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or related field. Master’s preferred
• 5+ years’ experience in Data Architecture and BI/analytical tools
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
