HR Works is assisting our client, Hobart and William Smith Colleges, with its search for an Human Resources Coordinator. This position is located in Geneva, NY.

Job Summary:
The Human Resource Coordinator will support a multitude of HR functions and will focus heavily on administrative support, onboarding, orientation, and training new employees. The HR Coordinator will be responsible for student employment and will provide tactical support to the HR team in a variety of different functional areas. This is an excellent opportunity to get direct exposure to all areas of Human Resources and learn and grow under the leadership of an experienced Human Resources team.
Responsibilities:
- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, policies and work assessments.
- Responsible for all aspects of the student employment processes to ensure compliance with established policies and integration into department staffing needs.
- Assists newly hired employees in completing necessary and required documentation.
- Conducts, acquires or performs background checks, MVR checks, employment verification requests and unemployment verifications.
- Supports new hire orientation, open enrollment, and employee recognition programs.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Provides exemplary customer service and will handle HR-related inquiries from applicants, employees, students, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.

Education and Experience:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience.
- At least 2-3 years of related experience required with strong emphasis on recruiting, training, and payroll.
- SHRM-CP or HRCI-CP credential is preferred.
