The Opportunity

The role of the Associate Director, Human Resources is an exciting opportunity for an HR professional that is passionate about supporting and developing people. Having a true seat at the table, the Associate Director of Human Resources will partner with our Associate Executive Director of Human Resources to administer and continuously improve our Human Resources programs.

The Role

The Director of Human Resources will embrace the vision, mission, and values of AccessCNY will help create and administer human resource (HR) initiatives that support the organization’s growth and result in a productive and engaged workforce.

In this role, the Director of Human Resources develops, implements, and administers the recruitment, retention, engagement, and development of all employees.  This position will provide leadership, planning, and oversight of all employee relations and talent management programs and ensures that the programs support and reflect the organization’s strategic objectives.  This position partners closely with leadership, makes recommendations regarding a broad range of staffing and personnel matters, and executes accordingly.  The position additionally leads a team of HR professionals to support the HR objectives.

The right candidate will have:

  • A strategic approach to HR with a demonstrated history of aligning an organization’s HR policies with its business objectives.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field.  Master’s degree preferred.
  • At least five years of experience in Human Resources with at least two years supervising a team.
  • At least three years of talent management and employee relations experience.
  • Experience in the non-profit industry is highly preferred.
  • Current knowledge of State and Federal employment law, including experience with practical application and interpretation of employment law.
  • HR certification such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
  • A demonstrated ability to work independently, provide expertise, and guide internal team members through various human resource initiatives.
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees.
  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple tasks.
  • Problem analysis and resolution at both strategic and functional levels.
  • Experience as a key member of a leadership team. 

Additional Requirements: This is an onsite position with hybrid potential.  Please note this is not a full remote position.
