J. Fletcher Creamer & Son, Inc. is seeking a Purchasing Agent based out of its Linden or Wall, NJ office locations.

Responsibilities:

  • Solicit bids, perform price analysis, and negotiate pricing for a large range of construction materials
  • Daily interaction with management and field personnel
  • Develop purchasing solutions to field problems such as delivery issues
  • Maintain and grow professional relations with clients
  • Use software to enter requisition data and issue purchase orders to vendors and project team
  • Track and provide purchasing planning and control information by collecting, analyzing and summarizing data and trends

Work Experience Expectation:

 - Relevant construction experience a plus

 - Prior purchasing experience a plus

Special Skills / Abilities Needed:

  • Must be able to read & understand project specifications
  • Work independently and changes tasks quickly
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Outstanding computer skills including the MS office suite of products
  • Ability to communicate effectively within the company, with material vendors, and with field personnel is essential
