Utility Coordinator
Play an integral role in acting as liaison between infrastructure designers, utility providers, city staff, and project owners regarding utility coordination activities in preparation for or during construction.

What Do You Offer Us?
• Ability to analyze conflicts and use all forms of communication to resolve them quickly, with a sense of urgency
• Escalate to proper person(s) when unable to resolve conflict(s) in a timely manner
• Represent Mears at utility-related meetings with the City of Austin, Austin Utility Location Coordination Committee (AULCC), Downtown Austin Project Coordination Zone (DAPCZ), other nearby cities, TxDOT, utility providers, contractors, and project owners
• Conduct utility coordination meetings, document meeting minutes, follow up on action items to assure effective coordination results, and maintain files of activities for each utility agency
• Perform utility records research, maintain list of current utility contacts, document and track utility conflict resolutions
• Communicate verbally and in writing to keep project team informed regarding the status of utility coordination activities
• Prepare/review/facilitate Utility Co-location Agreements, Joint Use Agreements, and Record As-Built Drawings
• Other duties as required

What is Required?
• High school Diploma or equivalent
• At least two years of technical/utility coordination experience
• Construction experience or knowledge of methods of construction to know how to resolve, redesign, or reconstruct when a conflict arises
• Ability to read and interpret standard utility, underground, and aerial design and engineering drawings, KMZ files, and maps
• Attentive to details and has effective time management, planning, and organizational skills
• Professional, courteous, and responsive in verbal and written communications and interpersonal skills
• Proficient with Word, Excel, Outlook, PDF’s, KMZ files, Google Earth, and ability to learn QuickBase database
• Pass Pre-Employment drug screen and background check
• Must be able to drive to and from various meetings, sit or stand for extended periods of time, walk safely on uneven ground when making field visits, and lift up to 25 pounds (field or computer equipment, printer, etc.)
