Position Summary
The Seasonal Landfill Operator performs any combination of duties to manage municipal solid waste materials at the Landfill Site including (not limited to) pushing waste, hauling dirt or wood for cover operations. This position is located in Arnegard, ND and scheduled for 4 10-hour shifts per week, for approximately 6 months (may vary depending on business need). Level and salary commensurate with experience.

Essential Job Functions

• Safely operate heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, compactors, skid steers, dump trucks, water trucks, spray trucks and others as needed
• Ensure facility cleanliness is maintained, including picking up windblown litter, cleaning the office/shops and equipment
• Perform routine maintenance including, but not limited to, greasing equipment, oil changes, minor repairs, etc.
• Maintain daily reports
• Other duties as assigned for business needs

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• 1 year experience truck driving OR 3 years’ experience operating heavy equipment
• Valid driver’s license
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Must be able to report to Watford City, ND daily at required schedule time
• Physical requirements and working conditions:
• Able to handle exposure to noise and extreme weather conditions
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, kneel, stoop, sit, walk extensively

Preferred Qualifications

• Class B CDL with air bag endorsement preferred

Salary Range: $ 29.75-$32.20 per hour - DOE
