GENERAL SUMMARY: Responsible for maintenance of warehouse to include inventory management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS: The Warehouse Associate must maintain the warehouse and be available to delivery stock to needed technicians on job sites.
This position requires a knowledge of maintaining a small warehouse and insuring stock levels are maintained per the min/max requirement set forth by management. Additionally the position requires the ability to drive a company vehicle to job sites to delivery requested inventory. These responsibilities are completed on a daily basis and hourly co-worker overtime is kept to a minimum. Listed below are minimum standards that Ed's HVAC · Plumbing · Electric requires of this position.
Job functions defined:
- Problem Solving - the Warehouse Associate must be able to identify inventory and how it is used in the HVAC, Plumbing and Electric fields. Additionally identify inventory trends to help identify min/max stock level needs, to include truck stock materials.
- Communication – must be able to adequately communicate inventory needs to management and accounting to ensure restocking, returns and new stock items are ordered in a timely manner.
- Understanding the Task – must be able to identify the material needed for use in the HVAC, Plumbing and Electric industry.
- Training and Education – the Warehouse Associate participates in process improvement, makes self available to manager, provides regular performance feedback, develops their skills and is encouraged to grow.
- Continuous Process Improvement – the Warehouse Associate looks for ways to improve and promote quality, and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
- Judgment – the Warehouse Associate displays willingness to make decisions, exhibits sound and accurate judgment, and makes timely decisions.

- Ask Questions
- Listen to the technicians and delivery personne
- Follow-up
- Assist sales/service technicians with all information to aid in accomplishing the sale by ensuring they have their inventory needs met for each job.
Paperwork, Vendor Invoices
- Monitor warehouse and truck inventory and ensure what we receive is what is documented on the packing slips.
- Report any discrepancies to management.
Keep the shop, warehouse, and office areas clean and maintained.

- Return unused or broken upon arrival materials
- Keep supplies to a minimum
- Clean up and dispose of scrap
- Manage dumpster area, call for additional pick-ups when needed
Properly account for your own time and complete your time reporting daily.
Team work:
- See that you have the tools you need to complete your work in a professional manner. Ask your manager for assistance when needed.
- Make sure these requests are given to managers promptly and appropriately. Follow up as necessary to gain a satisfactory outcome.
- Be available to provide help when your co-workers need a hand.
- Inspire your co-workers to learn and become a more knowledgeable.
- See that your educational needs are addressed and present them to your manager.
- See that vacation requests are scheduled on Servicom schedule. (According to employee manual). HVAC is in high demand during peak seasons.
- Encourage feedback from technicians on truck inventory. Share feedback with manager(s).
Accountable for:
- Warehouse cleanliness and organization
- Parking lot and dumpster area
- Maintain accurate counts on inventory and report needed restocking numbers
- Time sheets turned in promptly and accurately
- Paper work turned in promptly and completed with proper information
- Workmanship standards – you are accountable to follow standards.
- Appropriate dress and personal hygiene -- no body odor, teeth brushed, shoes well maintained.
- Notify your department manager of job progress on a timely basis
- Work area kept neat and in order. All trash receptacles emptied daily.
- Apply what is learned from mistakes.
- Accept responsibility for work.
Provide Feedback during your review with manager
- Give fair feedback of manager’s performance
- Work with manager and general manager to develop action steps for additional training and job responsibilities.
