ABOUT THE POSITION

The Marketing & Communications department is responsible for achieving all subscription and single ticket revenue goals for the organization, and for all outward-facing patron communications.  The Growth Marketing Director is a critical member of this team and provides essential strategy and execution for maximizing revenue potential in a sustainable way through marketing subscriptions and single ticket sales. This role will utilize analytics and emerging marketing trends to design and execute growth initiatives with the goal of cultivating new audiences while deepening existing patrons’ loyalty to Seattle Rep’s mission.

Typical duties include: 

Manage integrated marketing campaigns for selling single tickets and subscriptions

  • Develop advertising plans and timelines that integrate print, television, radio, outdoor, direct mail, and digital media efforts.
  • Collaborate with other team members in developing and executing sales strategies and growth marketing initiatives, including Data Operations, Communications, and Patron Services.
  • Create and manage promotional opportunities and grass roots efforts with media and third party organizations.
  • Negotiate season-long media sponsorships that bring added value to marketing campaigns.
  • Manage and expand restaurant and promotional partnership programs tied to subscriber benefits or audience development initiatives.

Manage single ticket and subscription expense budgets

  • Create campaign budgets from the ground up and manage them throughout the course of each season.
  • Track advertising invoices against contracts and submit to Finance for payment.
  • Reconcile budgets with Finance each month to maintain fiscal integrity.
  • Work closely with CMO to achieve long term strategic planning efforts as it relates to growth marketing efforts in relation to maximizing budgets

Execute marketing strategies and develop collateral

  • Negotiate and schedule advertising campaigns with media.
  • Manage the process of producing marketing collateral in alignment with the overall brand.
  • Traffic materials to the media and marketing partners on time and on budget.
  • Regularly review campaigns to make sure they’re running as scheduled.

Manage daily course correction of campaigns and strategies

  • Track sales each day to ensure efforts are on track to meet and exceed goals.
  • Recognize when campaigns need to be altered and what is needed to change course.
  • Evaluate campaigns upon completion to determine effectiveness and ROI when possible.
  • Attend department revenue and budget meetings to contribute as well as better assess overall campaign needs.

Plan, implement, measure, and optimize audience development strategies

  • Work with CMO to create strategies that will cultivate new audiences and deepen connection of existing audiences.
  • Work cross-functionally with the marketing, development, artistic, arts engagement, and data operations to determine how initiatives might intersect.
  • Develop within annual advertising plan that will build new and diverse audiences in alignment with our values.
  • Build and maintain relationships with members of the local arts marketing community, community organizations, and promo partners to facilitate initiatives.
  • Attend various administrative and community meetings, including the Seattle Center marketing cohort and Market the Arts.

Other Duties

  • Manage our external digital marketing agency in collaboration with Social Media and Press Manager.
  • Collaborate with CMO, Data Operations and Web Production to define KPIs and leverage insights from Google Analytics, SEO campaigns, Facebook Insights, etc. to drive growth.
  • Work with other departments to assist with marketing and advertising efforts as needed.
  • Attend Marketing Strategy Committee meetings, and collaborate with trustees and staff as part of Audience Development Sub-Committee
  • Attend various administrative and community meetings, including the Seattle Center marketing cohort and Market the Arts.
  • Co-Manage Marketing Coordinator and Marketing Apprentice

 

Minimum qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in marketing, advertising, media buying, and promotions
  • Strong background in digital media and e-marketing
  • Experience developing and maintaining budgets
  • Possess a strong understanding of the patron mindset and consumer trends
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong analytical skills and able to process data to drive growth
  • Commitment to or knowledge of racial equity and social justice

Desired qualifications

  • Experience working in non-profit performing arts or entertainment
  • Knowledge working with a ticketing system, specifically Tessitura or equivalent CRM system
