JMT Trucking services the central Iowa area with two branches located in Des Moines and Ames. Our fleet of 80+ dump trucks, belly dumps, and side dumps service construction jobs of all types and sizes. We also have four Slingers that specialize in hard-to-reach projects, such as residential jobs. We are looking for drivers with a positive attitude to provide excellent customer service and be a part of a great team.  We have Full-Time and Part-Time positions available. In addition, we provide in-house training to help you obtain your Class A or Class B CDL.

Requirements:

  • CDL Permit required
  • Current Class A or Class B CDL with airbrakes, preferred
  • Must have driving record that complies with the requirements of our Safety Department and/or insurance carrier
  • Must be flexible with hours of operation Monday through Saturday (some nights and weekends)
  • Must be prepared to work long hours during the busy season
  • Must pass:
    • A pre-employment DOT drug screen
    • DOT Physical
    • A Comprehensive Pre-Employment Post-Offer Assessment
    • Random drug & alcohol screens

Physical Requirements:

  • Climb a ladder
  • Shovel (5 pounds) for 3 minutes at a time
  • Tarp and un-tarp the box of a dump truck
  • Occasionally lift 60 pounds
  • Postural tolerances and fine/gross motor skills
  • Be physically fit enough to use a shovel in cleaning out a dump box
  • Have the physical ability to climb in and out of a truck cab and dump box repetitively throughout the day
