Position Summary
Oversee equipment and maintenance operations; coordinate quotes and selection of vendors in order to procure the most cost-effective equipment, service, parts and materials; assures equipment maintenance tracking and transaction accuracy; assist mechanics.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Abide by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely.
Ensures safe and efficient operation of the maintenance shops through maintenance, inspection and repair of the equipment and operating conditions of the facilities.
Evaluate vendors based on cost, quality, service, availability, reliability and selection.
Prepare specifications and get pricing for off-road equipment as needed.
Work with shop personnel to schedule and coordinate work-flow, order parts and supplies as needed, line up outside repair services as needed.
Secure and maintain inventory control over maintenance shop supplies, equipment, tools, vehicles, etc.
Maintain equipment files: track repair history, keep service and maintenance records, prepare and monitor oil samples, verify and record regulatory inspections, maintain inspection logs.
Verify and code invoices for Accounts Payable.
Monitors and controls the warranty system, assures efficient processing of warranty claims. Monitors and controls vendor issues including procurement delays, returns and core tracking.
Manage fuel needs: monitor fuel prices and price and order bulk fuels, collect and summarize monthly fuel transactions including equipment mileage/hours information, assemble fuel information for monthly entries and regulatory requirements.
Assist mechanics, as appropriate, with maintenance and repairs. Provide transportation assistance of personnel, equipment, tools and supplies as needed.

Position Requirements and Education
- Any combination equivalent to High School diploma or equivalent and three years of plant repair, product knowledge, purchasing, good administrative skills and inventory management experience are very important.
- Must be mechanically inclined with previous experience troubleshooting machinery and equipment.
- Valid NE driver’s license and be insurable under the company insurance program.
- Must have basic working skills and a demonstrated ability in electrical, mechanical and plumbing.
- Must have a good sense of detail and work to maintain a clean, organized and safe stock supply environment.
- Ability to maintain personal technical knowledge and skills and up-to-date knowledge of new products and options to facilitate cost effective plant operations.
- Working knowledge of the operation and maintenance of small and large motors and standard motor vehicles.
- Must be flexible regarding work assignments.
- Must be able to work with various hand tools of the trade.
- Must have good manual dexterity and good motor coordination skills.

Must also be able to lift up to 50 pounds to waist height.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Employees are required to wear protective safety gear and eye protection.
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock and vibration.
The noise level in the work environment could be loud occasionally.
Employees are required to wear protective ear protection. There are some chemical exposures that are part of performing the job. SDS sheets are available in the department.
Plant and field environment with exposure to noise, dust, grease, smoke, fumes, gases, and chemicals.
Must be able to work a minimum 45-hour shift per week.
