Responsibilities:

 

Company seeks a mature professional for their Payroll Accountant position. The ideal candidate will have prior payroll experience, detail-oriented with excellent computer, organizational, and communication skills. Human Resource experience a plus. This candidate will be a team player and a self-starter with experience in handling critical deadlines. Salary commensurate with experience.

  • Process payroll for all employees
  • Federal and State withholding tax reporting and filings
  • Worker’s compensation reporting and filings
  • Garnishment reporting and filing
  • Accurate reporting and filing of certified payroll
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of pay records
  • Reconcile all payroll liability accounts monthly
  • Maintain all updates of pay as changes occur
  • Assist Controller with various projects as needed
  • Ensure benefits are accurately and timely reported in payroll
  • Verify all benefit billings monthly for accuracy
  • Assist with Worker’s Compensation audit

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Bachelor degree, or similar level of years’ experience
  • Proven knowledge of accounting industry-leading accounting software
  • Comfortable with productivity tools such as Microsoft Office Suite
  • Functional knowledge of database and spreadsheet tools, such as Excel
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Distinctly self-motivated and capable of handling multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment

Hazards and Atmospheric Conditions:

This position is primarily office based and most work is done in an office environment. Occasionally this position may require site visits to active construction sites. On a construction site, the employee may be required to climb ladders and walk in areas under construction. While on construction sites, the employee must wear proper protective equipment such as hard hat, eye and hearing protection, high visibility vest, etc. The employee must be familiar with all company safety equipment and is required to follow company safety procedures, prior to entering the construction site
