Job Summary

This position will primarily lead all functions relating to the production activities of the block burnishing department. 

• Setup, monitor and maintain the Burnisher or any other company related equipment to produce the highest quality standards and a minimal unit loss.
• Efficiently schedule the burnished production to reduce machine set-up time.
• Participate/oversee the handling of burnished material in the production, stacking, wrapping, and storing stages.
• Ensure correct “Tagging” each cube with product / job identification.
• Report immediately any deficiencies or problems identified.
• Operate automated wrapper.
• Utilize forklift in the storage and re-supply of burnished product.
• Load and unload product from burnish boards.
• Perform quality checks of block products.
• Operate handheld sander, angle grinder and other hand tools.
• Maintain open communication with Supervisor.
• Perform and ensure regular clean-up of production area.
• Maintain and report accurate counts of completed product.
• Monitor and communicate product and material needs.
• Assist employees in work areas.
• Train new employees.
• Additional tasks as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Knowledge of block shapes and types.
• Safe operation of automated wrapper.
• Safe operation of forklift.
• Safe operation and maintenance of Burnish Dept. machinery and equipment.
• Lift and/or carry up to 100 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to stand and walk on concrete for at least an 8 hour period.
