Job Description

We are seeking an experienced CAD Designer to join our Portland, ME office. You will use AutoCAD and other tools on a variety of projects, particularly coastal/marine waterfront engineering projects. You will also support field activities. You will partner with our technical staff locally and in other offices and will be a member of our broader GEI CAD Team.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties

  • Work on a variety of engineering projects under the direction of senior staff
  • Contribute to engineering analyses and designs using CADD software such as Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D and other tools
  • Prepare and edit drawings using AutoCAD and geographic information systems (GIS) such as ESRI’s ArcGIS and/or Blue Marble’s Global Mapper
  • Assist with field inspections and field surveys
  • Assist with the preparation of proposals and reports

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering Design or similar
  • 2 or more years of experience using civil design tools such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D
  • Familiarity with ESRI’s ArcGIS is a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness and ability to work outside in the field, including during inclement conditions
  • Valid driver’s license
