Position Details:

  • 1st Shift (6:00 am-3:30 pm)
  • Monday – Friday : 40+ hour week with overtime available on Saturdays
  • Pay Range:  Based on experience

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, layout and perform all bench and machine operations to construct smaller types of tools and dies.
  • Plan, layout and perform all bench and machine operations to alter and repair all tools, dies, fixtures and gauges used in the production areas, including retiming, sharpening, changeovers, alignment, calibration and adjustments.
  • Perform difficult machine set ups and operations involving the improvisation of tooling and machines for unusual adaptations.
  • May perform development and experimental work selecting allowances and materials when a design or specification is not available.
  • Set up dies in presses; assist in set up of fixtures or tooling as required.
  • Construct fixtures for assembly, presses, welding machines and Denisons; repair and maintain as required.
  • Recommend improvements or repairs from outside vendors to management.

Job Qualifications:

  • High school required plus apprenticeship program and/or related technical certification.
  • Must be able to understand complex or complicated blueprints and/or specifications.
  • Must have mechanical aptitude and ability and be able to identify problems with dies, tooling and fixtures as well as with manual machinery or CNC equipment.
  • Three plus years of tool and die experience in a stamping operation or job shop.
  • Must possess the majority of tools used by tool and die makers at time of hire.
  • Extensive QC and inspection experience using precision instruments for exacting dimensions and tolerances.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with coworkers and supervisors.
  • Must have and wear protective gear designated for the Department and job.
  • Must be able to stand for all or most of a regular work shift.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 – 50 pounds on an infrequent basis
