SEATTLE REP is seeking friendly and highly talented Theater Floor Staff to work behind the counter at the bar, concession stand and coat check for our new season. The Theater Floor Staff position is a patron facing, customer service job dedicated to making our patrons’ experiences when they come see a show as positive of an experience as possible. This is a part time position that works for the duration of our 2021-2022 Season that begins in January and is scheduled to end in late June, with an option to renew for the following 22-23 season.

ABOUT THE POSITION
The Theater Floor Staff position is all about service with a smile. Pouring drinks, brewing coffee, selling cookies, and most of all ensuring that our patrons are having a good time when they come to Seattle Rep to see a show.
Typical duties include:
Working behind the coffee stand
- Selling and serving of concessions pre-show and at intermission
- Brew coffee, wrap baked goods, sell to our patrons and be enthusiastic about their positive experience
Bartending
- Pouring wine and beer, shaking and making cocktails and suggesting intermission pre-order drinks, all done with a smile
- Cleaning up of bar each night, reconciliation of cash and drawer
Working Coat Check
- Checking coats, bags and umbrellas in our secure coat check area pre show, handing them back post-show
- Managing and distribution of our Assisted Listening Devices at each performance
- Setting up and reconciliation of our self-serve coffee station at our Bagley performances
Minimum qualifications
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, evening and weekend hours required
- High school diploma or GED
- Commitment to or knowledge or racial equity and social justice
- This job is physically demanding which requires you to be comfortable on your feet, standing or walking for up to 5 hours. Required ability to move and lift furniture, beverage crates, and tubs of ice
- WA State Food Handler’s and MAST Permit required
Desired qualifications
- One year experience providing positive customer service, preferably in an arts environment
- Demonstrated ability to appropriately manage cash and inventory
- A genuine interest in theater and in working with the public
- Strong diplomacy, interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Working with iPads and Square
- Ability to clearly communicate, both verbally and in written form
