Primary Purpose of this position:

Design power distribution, lighting, controls, and emergency power systems for industrial, institutional, and health care facilities. 

Specific Job Duties:

  • Design electrical systems/equipment to provide a useful and safe workplace.
  • Provide preliminary drawings and/or samples to clients for selection and approval.
  • Review existing electrical designs and specifications for equipment being purchased or fabricated.
  • Provide requested services while meeting safety codes, specifications, and budgetary limitations.
  • Maintain relationships with industry contacts to secure opportunities to design/estimate upcoming projects.
  • Perform marketing/sales functions – make sales calls with existing and potential clients.
  • Prepare preliminary budgeting for negotiated/design assist projects.
  • Oversee and review arc flash and thermographic studies and provide detailed explanations of corrective actions required.

Formal education, certifications and/or experience required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology.
  • Licensed PE.
  • Must be LEED accredited or willing to obtain LEED accreditation.

Other Requirements:

  • Be able to obtain US security clearance.
  • Have knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office software.
  • Have familiarity with electrical design, power distribution, and lighting design.
  • Must be motivated, hardworking, and dependable.
