Primary Purpose of this position:
Design power distribution, lighting, controls, and emergency power systems for industrial, institutional, and health care facilities.
Specific Job Duties:
- Design electrical systems/equipment to provide a useful and safe workplace.
- Provide preliminary drawings and/or samples to clients for selection and approval.
- Review existing electrical designs and specifications for equipment being purchased or fabricated.
- Provide requested services while meeting safety codes, specifications, and budgetary limitations.
- Maintain relationships with industry contacts to secure opportunities to design/estimate upcoming projects.
- Perform marketing/sales functions – make sales calls with existing and potential clients.
- Prepare preliminary budgeting for negotiated/design assist projects.
- Oversee and review arc flash and thermographic studies and provide detailed explanations of corrective actions required.
Formal education, certifications and/or experience required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology.
- Licensed PE.
- Must be LEED accredited or willing to obtain LEED accreditation.
Other Requirements:
- Be able to obtain US security clearance.
- Have knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office software.
- Have familiarity with electrical design, power distribution, and lighting design.
- Must be motivated, hardworking, and dependable.
