Human Resources Generalist - Part-Time

The Part-time Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting human resource functions for the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society.  This position will assist with general HR functions.

Flexible schedule!

Individual must be available to work approximately 10-15 hours per week, generally Tuesday – Thursday, and for emergent situations as needed.

 What you will do!

• Conduct employee onboarding when needed
• Lead talent acquisition and recruiting efforts including job postings, phone screens and reference checks
• Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics such as leaves and compensation and resolve any issues
• Promote HR Programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace, addressing conflict and employee relation issues as they arise
• Undertake tasks around performance management
• Maintain employee files and records if needed.
• Support management with department staff issues as needed
• Ensure compliance with labor regulations
• Attend staff meetings provide onsite availably to address concerns
• Accurately handle and prepare any paperwork needed for applicable leave programs
• Undertake tasks around performance management including disciplinary or corrective action
• Help to build positive company culture

What you will need!

• BA/BS degree in human resources or related area
• Additional HR training is a plus
• Proven experience as an HR Generalist
• Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures
• People skills; able to assess skills and personalities.
• Strong communications, both verbal and written; within all levels of the organization
• Strong computer skills.
• Effective software skills, including Outlook, Excel and Word.
• Have and maintain valid driver’s license with good driving record; use personal vehicle at times.
