Summer of 2022 in Exchange for Volunteer Opportunities!


The Alaska SeaLife Center is recruiting RVers for our Visitor Experience Greeter,
Interpretation, Custodial and Grounds positions for the 2022 season.
RV site fee waived in exchange for volunteer opportunity.*
Applications are currently being accepted for RV volunteer positions at the Alaska SeaLife Center. Located in Seward, Alaska, it is Alaska’s only public aquarium. RV camping spaces come with electric and water hookups and a million dollar view of Resurrection Bay.
Before volunteering you will participate in training and receive additional information about this position.


RV volunteers can fill any of the following positions:
Greeters are an important part of the Visitor Experience Team at the Alaska SeaLife
Center. Greeters welcome our guests to the Center by giving them an overview of our exhibits andanswering various questions about the Center. These interactions can take place in the lobby ofthe Center or outside on our plaza on a sunny day. Greeters will also give short welcoming addresses to tour groups. As a greeter, you will provide our guests with their initial impression of the Alaska SeaLife Center. We are looking for someone who is comfortable with public speaking, enjoys interacting with others, will ensure excellent and memorable experiences for our guests, and has an enthusiasm for the Alaska SeaLife Center and its mission.
Interpretation Will assist with directions and answer guest questions as they tour the Center. May
give informal talks and programs about various animals. Potentially lead Behind the
Scene programs.
Custodial and Grounds Will help to maintain the professional appearance of the Center and
grounds by cleaning, mowing, raking, edging, weeding and trimming.


Applicants must be able to provide their own camping unit. An RV site will be provided on the shores of beautiful Resurrection Bay, within walking distance of the Center. The site is in the City of Seward waterfront campground and includes water, electricity, and refuse removal. In exchange, the Center asks for a minimum of 20 hours of volunteering per week per adult. Preference will be given to those who can commit to staying for the entire or most of the summer season. Our summer season runs from mid-May to mid-September. The position duration is based on acceptable performance and will be reviewedannually for renewal. Depending on the volunteer position you are appointed to, you may be subject to a background check.
