Permit Coordinator

The permit coordinator will oversee permit submissions for each jurisdiction in which we’re seeking permits.  They will be responsible for understanding the requirements each jurisdiction has for submittals and following up on status until the permit is received and delivered to construction. 

What Do You Offer Us?

  • Responsible for packaging and submitting ROW, Excavations, and pole attachment permit packages to local jurisdictions.
  • Ability to forecast dates for permit approvals, submit claims for re-work, and Review and edit redlines.
  • Prepare permit project packets for assigned projects for field crew.
  • Coordinate and communicate with field crews on status, issues, durations, and special requirements to re-apply and submit permitting thru the different jurisdictions.
  • Ability to read, understand, translate, and create logs and maps on a computer program (Excel and Bluebeam).
  • Experience on ROW entities and pole owners to produce permit applications.
  • Ensure timely processing of plans, permits, and applications to various jurisdictions for required reviews and approvals.
  • Ability to keep professional and healthy communication with all jurisdiction contacts to ensure a prompt approval process.
  • Ability to analyze and understand the jurisdiction of each project site to determine permit requirements for each location.
  • Resolve escalated issues that require coordination with other departments.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What is Required?

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Valid driver’s license
  • 2-3 years of Construction or Telecommunication Experience Preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite and Outlook email
  • Excellent client and internal communication skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Organizational skills including attention to detail, multi-tasking, and time management skills
  • Job is performed in a typical office environment, but is subject to Travel to job sites as needed
