J. Fletcher Creamer & Son, Inc is looking for a motivated Paralegal / Administrative Assistant to support General Counsel and the overall corporate legal department in Linden, NJ. There is flexibility to have this role work from our Wall, NJ office too.
Requirements:
DEGREE/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Associate’s degree, Bachelor’s degree, or Paralegal certificate required
- 1 to 3 years of paralegal experience in a law firm or corporate law department.
- Notary Preferred
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills required including Word and Excel.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational, administrative, and communication skills.
- Ability to independently handle routine legal issues/documents with employees and third parties under direction of GC
- Excellent proofreading, editing, and grammatical skills.
- Effective time management to meet deadlines
- Ability to speak and write clearly and succinctly, ability to craft effective communications, including on complex legal issues, ability to emphasize key points and ideas.
- Contract experience a plus.
- Ability to independently develop solutions for business issues with minimal supervision/support.
- Demonstrates substantive knowledge of legal principles, strategies and advisory skills.
Responsibilities:
PARALEGAL DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Independently handles legal and/or factual research as appropriate.
- Reviews, drafts and/or develops legal documents and communications.
- File organization and management.
- Assist in gathering internal documents/information for litigation.
ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Prepare correspondence; emails; handle phones
- Manage calendars; organize meetings; schedule conference calls and appointments.
- Prepare legal/corporate documents
- Maintain organized filing system of paper and electronic documents
Hours
- Hours – 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday
- Flexible work arrangements – to be determined with candidate
- Office Location: Linden, New Jersey
