Fiore Gold Pan Mine, located near Eureka and Ely, Nevada is looking for a Metallurgical Technician to join our team! Summary of Position: The ideal candidate will possess a background in metallurgy and mineral processing, with strong research and analytical abilities. The candidate will contribute positively within a team of professional and technical staff in a changing, creative, and energetic work environment committed to the production and ongoing development of the Fiore Gold Pan Mine.  As a smaller mine many of the technical positions have exposure to a wider variety of work and experiences within their field than they would typically have at many larger operations. The Pan Mine is an open-pit gold mining operation in eastern Nevada utilizing the cyanide heap leaching process

Essential Functions

Involved with the day-to-day safe production, plant processing and improvments with emphasis on site metallurgical technical support.
Conduct testing and collect data to achieve optimization of ore processing in a safe and environmentally sound manner.
Support metallurgical functions with emphasis on developing reliable methods to increase gold recoveries fully utilizing both internal and external expertise as required.
Complete process monitoring, lab & plant testing, data entry, analysis, and reporting. 
Perform routine and urgent sampling campaigns using standard process sampling and handling practices and procedures.

Experience and Training

Bachelor of Science degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent Process related degree required. 
A minimum of zero (0) to three (3) years of technical experience supporting plant operations or metallurgy. 
Ability to utilize multiple software applications and network platforms.
Able to research, analyze information, draw conclusions, and report to supervisor.
Ability to work outdoors in all-season weather environments and inside at a process plant.
Ability to work independently or in a team environment that creates and enhances Fiore Gold Pan Mine vision and core behaviors.
Self-awareness with demonstrated ability to communicate information in various forms (e.g. email, in-person, phone, in written form, technical documents, etc.) to a variety of audiences.
Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the position required. 
Must have strong self-starting skills with the ability to work independently and make good decisions with minimal supervision. 
Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternate solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
Proven ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintain them over time.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may work in outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet, hot and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, chemicals and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. When in the field, appropriate hearing protection may be needed.

Safety

Expected to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times while in a production environment (Hard Hat, Steel Toed Boots and Reflective Visible Clothing/Vest) or as required for the specific job duty. Must be able to wear a respirator to perform specific job duties by utilizing a ½ or full-face respirator.  Be alert and observe, correct, and report unsafe conditions. Follow operating procedures and comply with all regulatory requirements. Assure that appropriate task training has been completed and documented for all equipment, vehicles, and systems.
