Position Overview

The Asphalt Crew Member supports field crews in the placement, repair, and maintenance of asphalt surfaces. This is a hands-on role that requires teamwork, reliability, and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced, outdoor construction environment.

This position is ideal for individuals with asphalt experience, or those looking to grow their skills, who value quality work, teamwork, and contributing to projects that deliver long-lasting infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Safety & Teamwork

  • Ensure safety is prioritized in all aspects of work and follow all company safety policies
  • Report to the Foreman and follow daily jobsite direction
  • Be punctual and prepared for daily assignments

Field & Equipment Operations

  • Operate equipment such as pavers, rollers, skid steers, and other machinery as required
  • Perform labor on the jobsite including raking, shoveling, sweeping, and operating hand-held tools
  • Assist with asphalt placement, site preparation, and cleanup
  • Drive various sizes of company trucks to and from job sites as needed

Work Environment

  • Perform physical labor including lifting heavy objects, walking, and standing for extended periods
  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Typical schedules include 40–60 hours per week, including Saturdays

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong work ethic
  • One (1) or more years of asphalt experience preferred
  • Valid driver’s license required; Class A CDL preferred
  • Relatively clean motor vehicle record
    • Applicants with drug or alcohol driving offenses in the last five years will not be considered
    • Other violations evaluated per insurance standards
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
  • Ability to work 40–60 hours per week, including Saturdays
