MISSION OF THE POSITION

The Project Management Intern will support the Project Management Office (PMO) team in the organizing and managing a portfolio of scientific and operational projects. This is a 10-week paid internship and has the potential to be extended up to 6 months as a Co-Op.

The Project Management Intern role is located is Bryan, Texas.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Interns will be expected to learn the ins-and-outs of daily routines and procedures in Project Management at iBio
  • Focus on learning how the organization runs and expected to gain valuable insight that can further your interest in your selected career field.
  • Work alongside Project Manager during all phases of assigned projects, support functional areas such as business development, process science, client management, and gain executive leadership with the project management process
  • Opportunity to work on special projects alongside experienced scientists and learn from those with years in the plant-based biologics industry and the chance to build your network as you look for opportunities in your field after graduation.
  • Assist with creation of roadmaps and Gantt charts for each program/project
  • Assess man-hours time and materials needed for both established and new projects
  • Create reports to derive analytics from project data
  • Compile and communicate project status reports for executive updates
  • Employ project management skills to define work with stakeholders, develop plans to execute deliverables, and ensure all tasks are completed according to plan
  • Prepare weekly meeting agendas and minutes for assigned meetings
  • Design and complete an Internship Project with input from project management lead

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic skills in problem solving, prioritization and time management
  • Ability to quickly learn new techniques/skills
  • Work successfully on a team with peers of your own and other groups
  • Capability to adhere to ISO guidelines and iBio’s quality policy
  • Financial and business acumen with an ability to put context around data
  • Ability to think “outside the box” and identify issues, providing resolutions quickly
  • Must be adaptable and able to manage and prioritize diverse projects

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • College student working toward obtaining bachelor’s degree or graduate degree in biotechnology, biochemistry, microbiology, engineering or related field. Must have completed 60 credit hours.
  • Relevant skill set in project management, business or technical experience is highly valued for consideration

 PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • The work requires close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
  • The worker is subject to hazards: Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
