The Truck Driver Shop Assistant will be responsible for safely operating, shop equipment, picking, stocking material, loading shop delivery trucks, providing prompt, courteous services to our internal and external customers. A truck driver is responsible for ensuring his or her vehicle is in compliance with the Company's safety standards prior to operating the vehicle, ensures that all Company, State and Federal regulations are adhered to at all times while operating the vehicle, and completes vehicle condition reports (VMR) on a daily basis to ensure that any vehicle defects are repaired in a timely manner.
The initial focus of the position will be to assist in the shop, deliver and pick up material safely by following SOP’s and assist with completing projects on time, with budget guidelines as directed
The overall goal is to establish the company as an industry leader, achieving goals, customer satisfaction, meeting budgets, and completing projects on-time.
Success Factors
Perform complete pre-operation and post-operation inspection of the vehicle in accordance with Company Policy to ensure tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls are in proper working order and all loads are properly secured. Report any safety concerns to the department manager.
Safely operate his or her heavy truck along his or her designated route; read route sheet, follow map and service each customer as identified on the route sheet or as assigned by the dispatcher and/or supervisor.
Operate manual and/or automatic controls in accordance with Company safety policies and procedures to lift and load material.
Courteously interact with all internal and external customers, dispatchers and others on a daily basis to ensure all customer routes are serviced in a timely manner.
Continuously monitor the condition of the vehicles to ensure they are operationally ready at all times to minimize down-time. Keeping the trucks clean inside and outside daily.
Complete required route/delivery sheets, VMRs and other reports, as required.
Maintain adherence to required productivity standards for the department to ensure all customers are serviced in a timely and efficient manner.
Follow all required safety policies and procedures. Actively participate in the Company's Safety Program.

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of three [3] years of prior experience driving heavy commercial trucks.
Clean DMV | MVR Report must be printed with in 72 hours of interview date.
Class A Commercial Driver's License.
Fork Lift and Lift Certifications.
Education Level: [Required] High School Diploma or GED
Experience with Hand Tools, drills, Sawzall, able to climb ladders. Lift certifications a plus
