Recreation Leader - Seasonal Camp Lead

Pay Range: $15.00/hr. DOQ

 

Performs specialized work assisting program coordinator with activities at a designated community center, park, playground and/or other recreational facility. Assists with the development of sports leagues and tournaments. Promotes good relationships with neighborhood and activity groups.  May supervise one or more officials during leagues and tournaments. Must exercise considerable independence and self-motivation.  The employee is also responsible for assisting in the development of league rules and guidelines for Recreation Programs.

 

Qualifications

A high school graduate or GED is required.  Two years’ experience in the development and implementation of recreation programs. General knowledge of various recreational programs and activities required. Must have knowledge of various recreational programs and activities of a variety of age levels. Ability to deal with the general public of all ages tactfully and effectively. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing. Must have knowledge of the behavior of children of a variety of age levels. Must complete the required National Incident Management System (NIMS) training within 6 months of completion of probationary period. Must have a Valid Florida Driver’s License.

Works in an indoor and outdoor environment and is subject to sun, heat, humidity, rain, cold, and inclement weather. Works during daytime, nighttime, and weekend hours.
