Metro Pavers, Inc. a local, family owned and operated paving company that has been in business since 1966. We are looking for a detail oriented Onsite Project Manager who is organized with exemplary time management skills. This position requires someone who has strong communication skills, attention to detail, and is a problem solver.

Salary $65,000 - $85,000 Depending on Experience

Primary job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Read/Review all plans, specifications, addendums, contracts, and associated documents
  • Review, compare and contrast subcontractor quotes (specifically noting inclusions/exclusions)
  • Review project budget
  • Coordinate/conduct planning meeting with estimating/paving departments and subcontractors
  • Develop/finalize a project schedule for presentation to owner/engineer
  • Participate in formal pre-construction meeting with owner/engineer
  • Schedule a joint meet with impacted utility companies
  • Obtain necessary permits
  • Set up job site (i.e., trailer/toilet/services)
  • Supervise all on-site construction activities
  • Resolve day-to-day problems as they occur on site
  • Inspect all work during construction to ensure compliance with project specifications
  • Update/manage project schedule
  • Request and coordinate utility locates for Metro Pavers work
  • Coordinate subcontractors to meet project schedule
  • Attend progress meetings
  • Coordinate/develop change requests to be priced by estimator
  • Review cost reports against budget with the project team and develops appropriate solutions to resolve variances
  • Maintain electronic job files and records
  • Maintain daily logs/traffic control diary/SWPPP Reports
  • Review working days reports
  • Coordinate with office on pay estimates/submittals/change requests/subcontractor requests
  • Schedule/attend walk through with engineer to develop punch list
  • Coordinate completion of punch list items with subcontractors
  • Promote timely sign off on punch list items
  • Remove trailer and cancel all services

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • College degree in construction management or relevant field, and 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of construction.
  • 30-hour OSHA Certification desired or willing to get
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Must have strong work ethics, reliable, honest, detail orientated, well organized and a self-starter.
  • Analyzes problems and makes sound decisions in a timely manner based on objectives, risks, implications, and costs.
  • Must be able to pass a background check, pre employment physical, and drug test
  • Must have and maintain a driver’s license with clear driving record

The requirements listed below are representative of the skills and abilities required.   • Occasional twisting, pulling, and climbing, up to 60% of the time

  • Lifting 50 Lbs. on a regular basis
  • Being exposed to outdoor elements (hot/cold weather, noisy, rain, dusty, etc.) for up to 8 hours a day
  • Typing on the computer/tablet
  • Often working from levels over 4 feet from the ground (such as a ladder)

Visual requirements-must be able to pass a normal visual acuity test, must not have any nighttime driving restrictions on driver’s license
